Visit Argentina > Mesopotamia > Corrientes
The province of Corrientes is a part of the region known as Mesopotamia. It is bounded by the Republic of Paraguay, on the north; the province of Misiones, Brazil and Uruguay, on the east; the province of Entre Ríos, on the south; and the provinces of Santa Fe and Chaco on the west.
The city of Corrientes, next to the Paraná river, is where Graham Greene set his novel "The Honorary Consul".

Corrientes is an attraction in itself; rivers, forest, flora, fauna and important history sites makes it irresistable for the tourists. Its the main attractions are the Mburucuya National Park and Esteros del Iberá.
Tourist attractiveness is chiefly based on the very good fishing of "dorado fish" in Corrientes and of "surubí fish" in Goya.
In Itatí is possible to visit a monumental cathedral built in 1950.
