Visit Cuba > Trinidad
Also called “Cuba’s Museum City,” Trinidad is one of Cuba’s oldest colonial settlements and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once known as the Villa de la Santisima Trinidad de Cuba, founded in the 16th century, Trinidad is a fascinating destination.
Located in the province of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba's south-center, Trinidad has many other things to offer: pleasant beaches, an impressive waterfall and one of the archipelago's main mountainous regions.
Here the streets are paved with the stone used as ballast in the first Spanish trading vessels. Set against a background of blue sky or the Escambray mountains, the church steeples are typical examples of baroque architecture. Inside, the carrera marble floors and ironwork reflect the charm of past colonial times.

The museum of Romantic art, the museum of architecture, the archeological museum, the Alexander von Humboldt museum of natural science, the artisans' square, the institute of culture, the former royal prison and the museum of the fight against the bandits.

To get to Trinidad, you can take a bus from Havana. The closest cities are Sancti Spiritus (67 km), Cienfuegos (85 km) and Santa Clara (88 km).
