Down the magical Yangtze River

From the treeless Mountain Tanggula of Upper Qinghai, the Yangtze River winds 3,900 miles through the country from west to east. The journey from Chongqing to Wuhan includes the "Three Gorges" and is characterized by its picturesque natural scenery. The various ports of call along the way offer great opportunities to experience our ancient cultural heritage. Xiling Gorge

You will enter the Xiling Gorge passage and pass the Gezhouba Dam Ship Lock. The passage takes about one hour. The cruise continues through Xiling Gorge and also Wu Gorge . It takes on day cruise to the port of Wushan.
 

Wushan

Wushan County is situated above the Yangtze on the north bank and embraced by lovely mountain peaks where flourishes the tung tree, whose oil was used for the caulking, oiling and varnishing of junks and sampans. The small town of Wuxia,with l5,000 residents, is the county seat. Wuxia is the starting point for boat trips up the Daning River through the Three Little Gorges--the main reason for making a stop at Wushan.

The Three Lesser Gorges include the Dragon Gate, the Misty and the Emerald Gorge., the entry  of the largest gorge, the Qutang Gorge. Along the bank, you will pass many historic sites including the Ancient Plank Road, Mengliang Stairway and the mysterious hanging coffins of the ancient Ba people.
 

Jingzhou

Jingzhou is a national-level historical and cultural city-. Its major scenic spots and cultural sites include: Jingzhou Ancient City, the museum, Honghu Lake, Songzi Weishui Scenic Spot and Tian-e-zhou Oxbow (Swan Oxbow) Natural Reserve for David's deer of Shishou City. The annual events of Jingzhou International Dragon Boat Festival and Jingzhou Phoenix Music Festival make this city a center for promoting and popularizing Chu Culture, Culture of Three Kingdoms, and Culture of Dragon and Phoenix.
