Capital of the 'Balagne' it was referred to as Corsica's garden because of its fertile soil giving rise to vegetable gardens, orchards and vinyards. This area still produces today olive oil and wine among the best of the island.
An attractive region composed of 38 villages, each more typical than the other. It includes the medieval village of Sant' Antonino perched like an eagel's nest and Pigna with its pretty blue shutters.
