Area: 312,677 square kilometers

Formalities: Have a passport valid for 6 months after your return date
Currency: Polish Zloty (1 zloty = 100 groszy) 2003 rate: 1 euro = 4 zloty
Stores: open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays until 2 p.m.
Museums: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Mondays
Holidays: November 11, December 25 and 26

Shopping
Amber, jewelry and crystal are your first choices. You’ll also find shops specialized in leather goods, wood objects or embroidery. For gourmets: caviar, Polish meats or treats like chocolate covered plums.

Electricity: Voltage 220 V; cycle 50 Hz
Toilets: Most are pay toilets, even in restaurants. The price ranges from .5 to 1 zloty. Therefore always have some small change on hand.
